How to make an aromatic plant holder? – Growing aromatic plants all year round, even in winter, is possible! Even without a balcony or window sill! We show you how to grow them in your kitchen by making decorative installations that don’t take up space. Fresh herbs at your fingertips!

What do you need

Materials for making plant holders
  • 1 wooden plank
  • newspaper
  • 3 glass jars
  • 3 metal clamps
  • 1 lime
  • 1 brush
  • wood screw
  • potting soil
  • clay ball
  • white acrylic paint (chalk)
  • chalkboard paint
  • 1 electric drill/screwdriver
  • 1 small metal drill (ø: approx. 2 or 3 mm)
  • 3 jars of herbs of your choice

Step by step to your table from fresh herbs

  1. Protect your desk with newspaper, put the board and grease it with a layer of white white paint.

2. When the board is dry, pre-position 3 jars with clamps periodically. Mark installation location tie with a pencil.

3. Drill 3 clamps using a metal drill.

4. Fix 3 clamps on the board wood with wood screws.

5. Insert the jar into the clamp.

6. Make solid chalkboard paint under each jar to be able to register the name of your aromatic plant.

7. Remove the jar from the clamp to continue growing your aromatic herbs: put a layer of clay balls on the bottom, add a little potting soil and finish with the plants.

8. Enter name from each plantation.

All you have to do is place your creation on the wall, near daylight.

What to plant in your kitchen?

Choose aromatic plants that are easier to grow indoors, such as chives, parsley, mint or some thyme. To prevent the roots or tubers from rotting, consider arranging them drying layer at the bottom of the pot, clay balls for example. Water only lightly when the soil dries on the surface. Ideally, choose sun exposure, but not direct.
